Straight answers to the questions parents ask most, with the exact steps and a source for every fact. Updated for Roblox's 2026 changes.
How do I block a game on Roblox?
Sign in to your own linked parent account, go to Settings → Parental Controls, tap your kid's name, then Settings you manage → Content restrictions → Blocked games. Tap +, type the game's name, and tap Block twice to confirm. You can block specific games until your kid turns 16.

You link your own Roblox parent account to your kid's account, then manage their settings from your phone: content maturity, blocked games, chat, spending and screen time. Since mid-2026, kids also get an account tier by age — Roblox Kids (5–8), Roblox Select (9–15) or standard Roblox (16+) — which sets what they can see by default.

It depends a lot on how it's set up. Roblox has added age checks for chat, age-based Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts, and stronger parental controls — but state attorneys general and investigators allege that inappropriate games and predators still reach children. A linked parent account, tight settings and a regular look at the games your kid plays add a layer the defaults don't.

In your linked parent account, go to Settings → Parental Controls and tap your kid's name, then find Top games (it may say Top experiences, or be inside Screen time → Manage). It shows their top 20 games from the last week, how long they played each, and each game's rating.

Roblox labels each game Minimal, Mild, Moderate or Restricted, from gentlest to most mature; Restricted is for age-checked adults (18+) only. The labels come from a questionnaire the game's own creator fills out, and parents can cap the level their kid sees in Parental Controls.

At 13, your kid takes over screen-time limits, blocking users and their own privacy settings, and monthly spending limits stop applying. You can still block and allow specific games, manage direct chat, and see screen time and top games until they turn 16. At 16 game blocking ends, and at 18 the accounts unlink.
